What is Rena Smörjan good for?
The balm is developed to protect and care for very dry skin, cracked skin, chafing, thigh chafing, and heat rash. It works excellently as a hand cream for extremely dry hands – but also preventatively against friction during activities such as running, cycling, and hiking.
How does the balm work against chafing and thigh chafing?
Rena Smörjan forms a protective layer on the skin that reduces friction between skin/skin or skin/fabric. This helps prevent red, sore, and stinging rashes, especially in humid and warm conditions. Apply before activity for best protection.
Can I use the balm on my hands and face?
Yes! The balm is specially formulated for dry, cracked hands – but is also mild enough for dry areas on the face and around the eyes. It contains no synthetic fragrances or harsh preservatives.
What are the "grains" sometimes found in the balm?
The consistency is naturally affected by the organic butters. Graininess occurs when the fatty acids in shea butter and mango butter solidify at different temperatures – this is completely natural and just as nourishing.
What does it smell like?
No synthetic fragrances are used – only pure plant essences. A pleasant scent according to your own taste. Rena Smörjan is available as completely natural, without essential oils.
Is the balm economical?
Yes, very much so. A small amount goes a long way. It absorbs quickly and leaves a dry, protective feeling – as long as you don't over-apply. A 15 ml jar is equivalent to approximately 2 dl of traditional hand lotion, as it contains no water.
What skin type is it suitable for?
All skin types. The balm is especially good for skin that is very dry, chapped, or exposed to weather, water, or friction.
Can the balm be used on children?
Yes, the balm is safe to use even on children's sensitive skin. In that case, we recommend choosing the natural variant without essential oils, especially for the very youngest.
What does Rena Smörjan contain?
Organic shea butter, castor oil, coconut oil, Swedish beeswax, vitamin E, hop oil from Kalvsved, and organic essential citrus oils. Contains no synthetic additives or water.
Is the product vegan?
No. It contains Swedish beeswax and is therefore not vegan – but all other ingredients are plant-based and organic.
How should the balm be stored?
Store in a cool place – preferably below 23°C. Avoid direct sunlight. Too much heat can change the consistency.
